About the project

Grass to Glory is a mobile football management game developed for iOS and Android using Unity. Players begin with a small grassroots football club and work toward building a successful organization capable of competing at the highest level.

The game combines time-management mechanics with club progression, allowing players to expand their facilities, hire staff, and manage the resources needed to grow their football empire.

Gameplay and Progression

Players begin by maintaining a small local football field, completing tasks such as cleaning the grounds, collecting tickets, and managing vendors. As the club generates revenue, players can invest in facility improvements and additional staff to support its expansion.

Progression is structured around advancing through seven football divisions, with new facilities, management responsibilities, and gameplay opportunities becoming available as the club develops.

This progression system connects everyday management activities with longer-term objectives, giving players a reason to continue expanding their club.

Game Systems and Development

Grass to Glory was developed in Unity using C#, combining several interconnected gameplay systems into a mobile application.

The game's management mechanics revolve around resource collection, facility upgrades, staffing, and progression. These systems work together to create a gameplay loop in which players reinvest their earnings to improve efficiency and unlock additional opportunities.

The project also incorporates interactive environments and user interfaces that communicate available upgrades, management tasks, and club progression.

Mobile Experience

The game was designed around accessible, casual gameplay, allowing players to manage their club through straightforward interactions.

Its time-management mechanics encourage regular engagement while providing a sense of progression through facility improvements and unlockable content.

Developing for mobile also requires consideration of interface responsiveness, performance, and the clear presentation of management information on smaller screens.

Development Experience

Grass to Glory provided experience working on a commercially released mobile game with interconnected management and progression systems.

The project demonstrates how gameplay mechanics, resource management, and player progression can be combined to create an engaging mobile experience built around incremental growth and long-term objectives.
