Hop Hop Ninja!
A mobile endless-runner where players climb rooftops, avoid enemies, collect sushi, and unlock new characters and stages.

About the project
Hop Hop Ninja! is a mobile arcade game developed in Unity, where players guide a ninja through an endless vertical climb. Players navigate rooftops, avoid samurai and other obstacles, collect sushi, and unlock additional characters and stages as they progress.
The project combines accessible arcade mechanics with progressively challenging gameplay, encouraging players to improve their performance through repeated attempts.
Gameplay and Mechanics
The core gameplay revolves around navigating an increasingly challenging environment while maintaining momentum and avoiding enemies. Players must react to obstacles and make precise movements to continue climbing.
Collectible sushi provides an additional objective beyond survival, while unlockable characters and stages introduce progression incentives that encourage continued play.
Mobile Development
The game was developed using Unity and C#, with an emphasis on gameplay optimized for mobile devices. Development involved implementing interactive gameplay systems, managing game states, and designing interfaces that support the arcade experience.
The project also incorporated considerations specific to mobile development, including responsive controls and the presentation of gameplay across different screen sizes.
Analytics and Monetization
Firebase Analytics was integrated to collect gameplay and engagement data, providing insights into how players interact with the game.
The project also incorporated ironSource for advertising monetization, introducing additional considerations around integrating third-party services into a mobile game.
Development Experience
Hop Hop Ninja! provided practical experience in developing and publishing a mobile game using Unity. The project brought together gameplay programming, progression systems, mobile interface development, analytics, and monetization within a single application.
It also provided experience working with the requirements of a publicly distributed mobile game, where accessibility, performance, and player engagement are important considerations.
