About the project

Lockbox AMS is a web-based asset management system that helps organizations manage and track their assets through a centralized platform. The application focuses on providing an accessible, organized interface for managing asset information while supporting integration with existing enterprise infrastructure.

The project was developed using a full-stack architecture, combining a React frontend with an ASP.NET Core backend and Microsoft Azure cloud services.

Application Architecture

The frontend was built using React and Tailwind CSS, providing a responsive interface with reusable components and consistent styling. The backend was developed using ASP.NET Core, separating application logic and data operations from the presentation layer.

Communication between the frontend and backend is handled through REST APIs, allowing each layer to be developed and maintained independently. This separation also provides a foundation for extending the application as new requirements emerge.

Authentication and Cloud Integration

Lockbox AMS integrates with Microsoft Entra ID to support authentication through an organization's existing Microsoft identity infrastructure. This approach allows the application to leverage established identity management services rather than implementing a separate authentication system.

The application also uses Microsoft Azure App Service for cloud hosting, providing the infrastructure to deploy and run the web application.

Development and Technical Ownership

As the project manager and lead engineer, I have been responsible for designing the application's architecture, developing its frontend and backend components, and integrating its authentication and cloud services.

Development has involved balancing functionality, maintainability, and extensibility while establishing a codebase capable of accommodating additional asset management features.

Ongoing Development

Lockbox AMS remains an ongoing development project. Its architecture provides a foundation for expanding asset management functionality, refining organizational workflows, and improving the overall user experience as development progresses.
